A GERMAN CASKET - Christoph ANGERMAIR
A 17th c. South German casket veneered with kingwood, ebony, pewter and mother of pearl, interior lined with red silk and fitted with a modern marblepapered box with a hidden drawer.
This coffer is attributed to Christoph ANGERMAIR (ca 1580 - 1633) - based on similar marquetry on the case of the coin-cabinet by the same ebonyworker in the Bayerisches Nationalmuseum in Munich.
One lid and one drawer.
